This is a silver coin from the Mongol States, minted in Herat during the era of Timurid Empire from 1405-1447 AD. The Mongol empire was founded by Genghis Khan in 1206. The Mongols remained faithful to the old shamanic and animist beliefs, but were still tolerant of other religions: Buddhism, Taoism, Islamism, Manichaeism, Judaism and Christianity.
