The Habbarids led by Umar bin Abd Al Aziz Al-Habbari, established themselves as the autonomous rulers of the province of Al-Sind around 854-55 CE, defeating and killing the last Abbasid governor of Sind, Imran bin Musa Al-Barmaki. The Habbarid dynasty ruled Sind till they were defeated by Mahmud of Ghazni in 1026 CE.
